Could Seattle be the next Amsterdam?
Washington State Ballot Measure Initiative 1398, if passed, would legalize brothels in all counties of the state. If this initiative passes, Seattle could become one step closer to mimicking the Dutch city. After all, we have legalized marijuana and the city attorney has also proposed marijuana lounges similar to Amsterdam’s coffeeshops.
In order for this to happen, though, the initiative needs enough signatures to be certified and officially placed on the 2015 ballot. If this happens, and the initiative passes, brothels would be limited to the outskirts of towns with less than 20,000 people and indian reservations.
