Marijuana Review: Pineapple Express by Gābriel Cannabis Seattle recreational marijuana source

“How did we get into this mess? Pineapple Express!” I love that song. Turns out I also adore the strain, who’d have thought? Good’ Huey Lewis and the News.

Well folks, we did it. We finally got our hands on the G?briel Cannabis Pineapple Express. Naturally, we picked it up from Bellevue’s Green-Theory and as always, the helpful budtenders had nothing but excellent praise for the marijuana producer. They were sold out last time, so we made it a point to go back.

As a member of the Green-Elite rewards program, I was able to call ahead and reserve my Pineapple Express for same day pickup. All it takes is a visit to Green-Theory where you can sign up in store, and on top of reservations, you’ll get numerous other perks upon being a member.

G?briel Cannabis was formerly a medical grower under a different name. Upon switching to recreational, the producer is looking to utilize science and soul to create some truly stellar bud. To borrow from their Facebook page:

“The founders are passionate about genetics, and blend traditional techniques with modern technology. With the guidance of our renowned master gardener, a state-of-the art facility was designed with a core steeped in quality and consistency”

It’s a simple, yet admirable goal – create the best marijuana in the world. I’d say the Washington newly-recreationalized producer is off to a killer start, as we loved the Lemon O.G. from several weeks ago, and obviously we were swept away with this weeks’ strain.

THC: 0.69% THC A: 20.55% CBD: 0%

Total: 18.71%

Strain: Pineapple Express
Species: Sativa
Smell: Pineapple + Skunk + Hay
Taste: Sweet + Spices
Launch Point: Almost immediate
High: Sparkeling + Crisp + A Weightless Train to a Tropical High

As far as I can remember, I’ve never had the pleasure of enjoying Pineapple Express until purchasing it for this review (although my girlfriend says she’s sure I had it in the past, and that I’m just not remembering – which is totally credible). Yeah I’ve seen the movie, but now seeing the strain – I’ve got to say it’s lovely and I can definitely see why some people would put it in some of their best cannabis strains considering how it tastes and the effects it can provide to the consumer.

A forest of lush red and earthy greens, covered with frost. The nugs were nicely cured, due in part to the excellent jar packaging. The buds actually kind of looked like my christmas tree a bit, twinkling star on top and everything. ‘Tis the season, after all.

After grinding up the Pineapple Express, it had a nice sweet scent to it. Of course “pineapple” was the first descriptor that came to mind, but I’m always wary of the placebo effect in terms of names equating to smell/taste. The flavor was a similar sweetness, but with a present spice as well (festive!).

The high was immediate, super crisp and energetic. What’s so lightweight about the experience from Pineapple Express is that there are no CBD’s, which allows the true THC power to shine through (don’t get me wrong, I love my Cannabidiol. I do often like to experiment with different products such as the different Private Label Supplements you can find in abundance). This strain is like a sunny day just waiting to burst, light it up and coast off the feeling for hours.

A giant pineapple with a conductors hat, and a mustache steers as the train speeds past space dust. On the horizon, a warm glow leading to a planet of palm trees. This is Pineapple Express at its finest, thanks to Gabriel Cannabis for bringing it to one of my favorite pot shops.
