Still stuffed from Turkey-day? Still hurting from battling for flat screen TV’s on Black Friday? Well, I’ve got a great a strain for your body and soul called OG Kush, produced by High Altitude. This reviewer picked up a 2 gram package for $55.71 from Seattle-area marijuana boutique Green-Theory (additionally awesome because the boutique was having a “black friday weeklong sale” – so the price was discounted).
So, after countless google searches – we were unable to come up with any real information regarding marijuana producer High Altitude. It’s safe to say that they are based out of Washington, and after thoroughly testing their product – it’s also safe to say they know what they are doing.
The package for OG Kush is see through, which is a must. I can’t stress the importance of being able to see the product before you buy it; with Washington’s laws, shops (and individuals) are not allowed to open packages in public – hence if you buy a bag of leafy-stem-heavy product, thems the breaks. Let’s all just try and remember: If the bag is opaque, a mistake you might make.
High Altitude’s logo is predominantly displayed on the front sticker, with cute little marijuana leafs vining up the sides like palm trees. Underneath a scenic Northwest mountain view, OG Kush is written simply on a delicate banner. It’s a very effective approach for packaging, and a great use of color/negative space.
On the back of the package, we have our specifics: Hybrid Total THC: 19.6%

Let’s talk aroma – the scent of OG Kush is spicy, lemony, and dare I say crisp. Snapping open a bud and holding it close to your face, there is a clear funk to this bud as well. By funk, I’m talking stink-aged-skunk – some truly potent nugs.
As you can see by the pictures, the strain is a leafy yet keefy specimen. One can hear a pleasant crackle as the buds break apart, and OG Kush burns with the gusto of a fireplace when taking a hit.
Upon tasting, there was a great depth of spice and lemon from OG Kush. This author sampled the strain from a pipe, and from a water pipe – both yielding slightly different tastes: the bowl giving more of the spice, and the bong providing more lemon (this is why I love doing reviews). Not many people realize that using a bong can bring out a different flavor of cannabis and anyone who wants to try it for themselves can check out this peyote pillar, for example. I’d imagine that using a vape with OG Kush would have a deep lemon, almost pine taste – scrumptious.
The high itself is more on the side of indica then sativa. It’s very body oriented, strong couch-lock, just overall a super “heavy” feeling. This author busted out some keyboards and delay pedals, and pretty much just jammed for awhile. Looking back, I should have totally recorded the session – but I guess that’s a “next time” kind of thing.
Much like the repetition of delay, the feeling from OG Kush felt like continuous waves of euphoria tingles, while I stitched together off tempo synth yammerings. After awhile, my girlfriend asked me to stop making “noises” throughout the apartment – yeah, it was time to stop.
But the high didn’t stop, no – it carried on for the better part of the afternoon. The potency of OG Kush is a welcome for those with a tolerance, but it certainly will be a intense experience for those new to marijuana.
