“Let me just throw on this headband before we smoke that Headband!” said me, I wish. Yes, it’s true – I never got to say that to somebody as I casually put on a retro headband whilst packing some glass with Headband… but it’s a dream that someday I’ll actualize.
Moving on, I’m sure that you’ve figured out by now the review for this week is Headband. This specific version of the popular strain was produced by Chronic Situation, and we got it from Ballard-area rustic pot shop Herbs House.
We’ve reviewed herb from the Spokane County producer before (click here for our AK-47 review), and their product was impressive.
Chronic Situation grow their herb in small batches, here’s a quote from their website: As a smaller tier one company, we use tried and true methods for growing the best quality product from the soil up. By keeping plant numbers low, our artisan growers give each of our plants the full attention they deserve.
I quite like the thought of artisan growers carefully tending to each plant, and cultivating a true victory garden. The proof is in the pudding, and the product is both pleasant looking and potent when puffed.

Headband is a vibrant bright green, like a sun bleached shamrock. The crystals (as you can see in the photo) are highly abundant, overlaying the nugs like a varnish, and a few red hairs join in on the party. Also crispy, nice and crisp.
The smell is somewhat spicey, like tea – or incense. There is a subtle scent of hay thrown in there, along with a little lemon. A lovely strain to split and sniff.
Smoking Headband tastes much like it spells, somewhat lemony and funky. The herb burns nicely, both in my vaporizer and water bong.
Sitting watching Seinfeld (just like Ellie), drinking some heavy Scotch Ale, smoking Headband. This is the kind of high that I enjoy. The herb is strong, and predominantly head high (thanks to the dominance of Indica).
When you work more than you relax, it’s really important to enjoy the small moments. Headband is a bud that lends itself to sitting back, investing in some tasty accompaniment, and enjoying some quality media.
Normally I’m a sativa kind of guy – I like the buzzy, body, non-burnout kind of feeling. This strain was actually real smooth for an indica, and Chronic Situation’s small batch tender loving care is apparent when the high truly gets rolling.
Next time, I need to get a super irie headband when smoking Headband. Thanks to the artisan producer for providing yet another splendid bud.
