Dumpster Diver Caught Diving for Marijuana Outside Retail Shop Seattle recreational marijuana source

Apache6 security caught an individual dumpster diving for “product” outside a marijuana retail shop in Tacoma. The highly qualified security team also chased away a couple of people who were lurking around the cannabis shop late at night, even escorting 1 individual to the Tacoma Police Department.

While the dumpster diving for marijuana incident is somewhat comical, the lurkers should not be a big concern for the general public. However, some may consider dumpster diving a legal issue. These incidents do bring up questions regarding the importance of security personnel at recreational retail marijuana stores. Even though security personnel is not required at local cannabis shops, they can provide several benefits, especially if they are on location 24 hours a day, like the service Apache6 provides. These benefits include: keeping staff, supply, and cash safe during and after business hours, and keeping the surrounding community rest assured that unwanted incidences will be minimized.

While security cameras are mandatory for all Washington State marijuana retail shops, and they must go through an inspection process in order to receive their operating licenses, security personnel is not. Unfortunately, it may take an incident or two before the Washington State Liquor Control Board and the State considers mandatory security personnel, at least during business hours. After all, each store will have a good amount of pot and cash, especially since banks will not accept money from marijuana retailers.

What do you think? Do you think security personnel should be mandatory or up to the discretion of the recreational marijuana retail store? Comment below or notify us on Twitter!
